Chirk is also home to a fascinating 700-year-old castle which houses armour and is set in gloriously manicured gardens. Next stop is Llangollen, where you can wander around the impressive 14th-century Plas Newydd Historic House and Gardens, embark on The Llangollen Round or hop aboard a vintage steam train at the Llangollen Railway Station for incomparable sights as you venture along the River Dee and through an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
