St Pancras Chapel is a holiday cottage offering self-catering accommodation, deep in the West Somerset countryside on the edge of Exmoor National Park. Built on the grounds of a holy well by the Cistercian monks of nearby Cleeve Abbey in the 13th century, today the modernised chapel combines the attractions of rural life with all the amenities of the modern age.
While you’ll have plenty to do at St Pancras Chapel – with facilities ranging from the snooker table to lawn games such as croquet and boules – there are many great places to explore for couples and friends, kids and the whole family in the surrounding area. These include the hundreds of walks in the Brendon Hills, the Quantock Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and its Jurassic Coast; the steam trains plying the West Somerset Railway Line from Minehead to Bishop’s Lydeard; and the castle, yarn market and inns of the medieval village of Dunster.
St Pancras Chapel welcomes guests of all ages and the extensive, fenced-in gardens make it suitable for dog-owners. There are two double bedrooms, one twin bedroom and one single and one double sofabed to accommodate larger parties.
So kick back and ease into the rural seclusion of St Pancras Chapel, relax and gather your thoughts. Guests’ testimonials speak of the opportunity for quiet relaxation and reflection in this enchanting oasis of tranquility, the sacred spring and stream in their peaceful river valley.
Located in Watchet, this cottage is in a rural area and on a river. Bakelite Museum and Dunster Dolls Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Wimbleball Lake Activities Centre and South West Coast Path Section 1 Trailhead. Traveling with kids? Consider The Chocolate House and Blenheim Gardens. Kayaking and snorkeling offer great chances to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with cycling and cave exploring nearby.
