This semi detached holiday home is located in a small hamlet within the grounds of the former Derwent Valley Railway Station. There is direct access to the popular Derwent Walk from the garden, perfect for all the family; enjoy the breathtaking views from the viaducts. Local amenities are less than 2 miles away and Rowlands Gill offers a range of shops and eateries. Walk to nearby Gibside Hall (3 miles), spend a memorable day at Beamish the Living Museum of the North (7 miles), and head to Hadrian s Wall for walks and the award winning Vindolanda and Roman Army Museum (32 miles). Visit Newcastle (10 miles) and stroll along the Quayside, with lunch in the heritage Baltic Flour Mills. The beautiful city of Durham is less than 15 miles away. Entering the cottage, you come into a wide hallway where you can leave your coats and boots. Glazed doors lead into the light and airy lounge with wood flooring and plenty of comfortable seating to relax and unwind. Here you will find books to read, a Smart TV and DVD housed in the feature fireplace, and an electric wood burner style heater to add to the ambiance. French doors lead out onto the patio. Walking through to the kitchen/diner you will find everything you need to prepare your meals including an electric oven and hob, a built in microwave, fridge/freezer, and a dishwasher. Sit together at the dining table for sociable dinners whilst you reminisce over the day's activities. The conservatory offers another comfortable option to relax in with after dinner drinks and a lovely view of the garden. The first of the bedrooms is located on the ground floor with a double bed and lots of storage. The spacious en suite shower room has a shower cubicle, WC, and washer/dryer. Upstairs, the pretty twin bedroom has a lovely view of the garden, and the en suite features a bath with a shower attachment and WC, and there is a double bedroom with an en suite shower room and WC. Outside, there is a patio area to the rear of the cottage where you can enjoy al fresco dining. The enclosed garden features a wall that was part of the original station platform and a summer house where you can sit and admire the garden and visiting birds. A gate leads to a small orchard area with the Derwent Walk directly behind. There is off road parking on the driveway for one car and a carefully allocated parking space in front of the property.
