Region: Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?
Town: Located between the residential community of Monkscross and the protected natural area of the Tamar Valley, the quaint community of St. Ann's Chapel is a welcome respite. The Tamar Valley Donkey Park and a playground are among the few attractions available in the village. There are several places to eat in the area, including the Rifle Volunteer and the Honicombe Manor Bar Rest, and a gas station where you can buy groceries. In Gunnislake, not far from the little village, is the restaurant The Rising Sun. Take in sights at Gunnislake New Bridge and The Koffi Lodge, ride some trails and climb Chimney Rock on a bike. Callington is up next, where you can visit the Callington Heritage Centre, spoil your loved ones at The Engine House At Compton Park and The Old Clink, and try some local beers at the Cornish Ancestor Micropub. Further afield is Plymouth, which is where you'll find The Box, the National Marine Aquarium, the National Trust's Saltram, Royal William Yard, and the Plymouth Gin Distillery.
Located in Gunnislake, this lodge is in a rural area and on a river. Cotehele House and Gardens and Dupath Well are local landmarks, and the area's natural beauty can be seen at Tamar Valley and Dartmoor National Park. Traveling with kids? Consider Launceston Steam Railway and Adrenalin Quarry. Practice your golf swing on a nearby course, or enjoy other activities in the great outdoors, such as cycling and hiking/biking trails in the area.
