Recently opened Holly Cottage is set up a private lane, with views of Mourne, Armagh and Louth mountains.
This peaceful cottage is ideal for families, couples, girlie get-togethers, walkers, cyclists and business travellers.
Various outdoor activities (walking, horse-treking, mountain biking and sailing) are 15 min drive away.
The village of Mayobridge is 2 miles away, 7 miles from the City of Newry and 5 miles from the main Belfast/Dublin Road.
Wi-fi and Netflix are available free of charge.
The space
Holly Cottage is set at the entrance of a working farm, however it a private space with its own garden and gated yard. Recently re-decorated and gaining approval from the Northern Ireland tourist board we opened late June 2018.
There is three comfortable bedrooms, 1 double, 1 twin and a single bedroom, each bed has white sheets. If required a travel cot and high chair are required. All bed-linen and towels are provided.
In the newly fitted kitchen you will find a welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar, milk, butter, eggs, bread and a choice of cereals.
2 flat screened televisions, 1 with access to Netflix and wi-fi, books for adults and children are also available.
Holly Cottage is set in a rural location, however we are only a short drive from the forest walks, mountain hiking, mountain biking, water activities, beaches, golfing, shopping, night-life quiet pubs, a variety resturants to eat. Search "Newry, Mourne Down activities"
For those who just want to chill and relax you can lift a book and sit in the private garden or yard, and take in the views.
Hen/stag parties are not permitted
Pets are not permitted as we have a dog and 3 cats.
Guest access
The cottage is set at the entrance of the farm which is set up a private lane which is shared with ourselves. Your private area is separated with a gate so children can play in the garden and yard safely, this area is big enough for parking and eating alfresco. An outhouse is also available if you wish to store any outdoor activity equipment.
Interaction with guests
I like to meet and welcome our guests on arrival, however if a time cannot be arranged of arrival we have a keypad which can store the key. We live adjacent to Holly Cottage, and available for any information to help make your stay enjoyable.
Other things to note
If guests like to shop, we are 7 miles from Newry city which has 2 shopping centres, boutique shops can be found in Newry, Warrenpoint and Banbridge. Belfast and Dublin are only 1 hour away by car or you can travel by bus from Mayobridge or train from Newry
Located in Newry, this cottage is in a rural area. Narrow Water Castle and Mary Catherine's Cottage are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Zaffron Day Spa and The Granite Trail. Burren Heritage Centre and Slieve Gullion are also worth visiting.
