Cottage In Cumbria, Cartmel

Lake District. Sleeps up to 4

The Cartmel Peninsula is perfect for beautiful walks and cycle rides and juts out into Morecambe Bay. From the cottage there are easy walks through the Holker Estate, or you can go up onto Hampsfell, which offers magnificent panoramic views of the bay and the Cumbrian Mountains. You could try the Cartmel Segway, a guided tour through woodland and meadows. There are three stately homes on the peninsula: Holker Hall, Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall. At Lake Windermere you can board a steamer for a lake cruise, or enjoy the National Trust grounds at Fell Foot Park. Beyond, in easy reach, is the whole of the National Park, Coniston and its lake, the Grizedale Forest and the Cumbrian Mountains. On entering this charming cottage a hall leads you into the spacious and comfortable lounge, which is tastefully furnished and features a roaring wood burner, which adds a cosy ambience to the room. Oak beams and a garden view combine to make a delightful place to come together, or simply kick back and relax with a movie on the TV. Across the hall is the lovely, traditional dining room which leads into the attractive and fully equipped kitchen. Here you will find an electric double oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, coffee cafetiere, dishwasher and washer/dryer. A small scullery leads to a downstairs WC and also opens out to the wonderful garden. A fine stairway winds up to the first floor where you will find two bedrooms and the bathroom with shower over bath and WC. The master bedroom has a king size bed, an en suite shower room and views out to the garden. The comfy twin bedroom lies to the front of the house and looks out over a meadow and the nearby heights of Hampsfell. Stepping into the delightful garden, you will find it divided into outdoor rooms with paved, terraced areas along with a grassy lawn, plenty of garden furniture and BBQ, making it a wonderful space to dine alfresco on warm summer evenings. Clogger Beck runs alongside the property, where you will see ducks swimming, an occasional brown trout, along with water voles and other river residents.
