Located in the village of Finsthwaite, this property sits in the south western reach of Lake Windermere. Set out on foot to explore the village s pretty church or National Trust Stott Park Bobbin Mill, or stroll up to High or Low Dam for a picnic and a paddle. After a long day on foot, there is a hotel only a mile and a half away which offers fine cuisine and overlooks the lake, while another nearby hotel boasts a bar and bistro restaurant overlooking the River Leven. Step through the covered porch and into the open plan living space. With a high, pitched ceiling, large window, exposed beams and wooden flooring, the accommodation is warm, inviting and full of homely touches. To the right, big plump sofas and armchairs sit drawn around a roaring open fire, surrounded by an eclectic mix of ornaments, pictures, furniture and occasional lighting. To the left of the main living space is a grand dining area where a large antique table sits next to an impressively stocked bookcase and a charming spiral staircase. Steps lead down to the farmhouse style kitchen where there is another table for enjoying breakfasts and light lunches. From here, double doors open into a sunny conservatory furnished with comfortable sofas and armchairs for whiling away the afternoons with a good book. Also on the ground floor is one double bedroom, which enjoys views of the garden and an en suite shower room. The master bedroom and adjacent bathroom with luxurious roll top bath are located upstairs. Step outside from the conservatory into the large and beautifully maintained garden, which is bordered by colourful beds and trees and dissected by a small beck coursing down over little waterfalls.
