This cottage is just 2.5 miles from Appleby where you will find local amenities, shops, pubs and indoor swimming facilities. The train station here is part of the Settle to Carlisle line. From May to September, why not enjoy a swim in the open air pool at Shap under 12 miles away? For any equestrians, there are lots of centres locally if you fancy a hack to take in some of the local countryside, or if you enjoy a spot of golf, there are local courses in Appleby (2.5 miles) and Penrith (15 miles). The Eden Valley has some fabulous walks and cycle routes, which are much quieter than the national park. The Lake District National Park is however within 10 miles; enjoy a day at Lowther Castle and explore the gardens and adventure playground, paddleboard on Ullswater, or take a trip on a steamer and visit Aira Force waterfall. As you approach the property, you will find an attractive stone archway with a covered porch. Entering the property, you will find yourself in the hallway with attractive wooden flooring and space to store your walking boots and shoes. Off the hallway to your left, is the well equipped kitchen and dining area. There is a large island, Belfast sink and an attractive Everhot range. Discover a formal dining table in front of patio doors overlooking the garden. Head back into the hallway, and opposite the entrance next to the staircase is a handy WC. The spacious lounge is off the hallway with a wood burner, beams, and relaxing lighting for you to kick back of an evening, enjoy a good book or watch a movie on the TV. Back through the hallway, and heading up the staircase to the first floor, you will find three bedrooms. There is a master king size bedroom which has original beams, a TV and an en suite shower room. Along the hallway, there is a family bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC. Opposite the bathroom, there is a pretty double bedroom which offers a great place to relax and unwind and to complete the accommodation, there is a second double bedroom. The enclosed garden is accessed from the kitchen, where you will find a small patio with seating and an elevated lawn. It offers a real suntrap on a nice day and is a great place to read a good book or enjoy a morning coffee.
