From the estate you can walk the mile into Castle Carrock where there is a fantastic country pub serving home-made food. Other pretty walks can be enjoyed around Gelt Woods, Greenwell, or up Carrock fell, which offers breath-taking views.

It is the ideal base from which to explore Hadrian’s Wall, the Lake District National Park, and the rarely explored rural villages straddling Cumbria and Northumberland.
