Ullswater is thought by many to be the most beautiful of all the lakes in the Lake District. Compared by some to Lake Lucerne in Switzerland, it is a serpentine body of water snaking a nine mile course under the lea of magnificent fells, woodland and mountain. Much of the lake, its shore and surrounding fells are accessible for visitors to explore, where you will find some of the finest walks and water activities, along with the amenities of the lakeside villages. You can cross the lake on a steamer, or cross the mountains down into Ambleside. Other fantastic walks include those to Howton and the Aira Force waterfall, or you could head to the delightful town of Penrith. Set in extensive grounds, your first impression will be of the sheer size of this former Lakeland barn. From the rear courtyard you enter into a large boot room with plenty of storage space. From here you step down into a large and attractive farmhouse style kitchen, which is fully equipped with AGA style oven, electric oven and gas hob, microwave, American style fridge/freezer, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine, coffee cafetiere and large dining table, as well as a TV and Bose iPod dock. From the kitchen you pass into the elegant central hall which is a large space with pitched and beamed ceiling, and which features a dining area ideal for special occasions. Moving into the cosy and spacious lounge, you can really sit back and relax with plenty of comfy seating, and a roaring open fire, making it a perfect space to sit back and watch a movie on the TV. From the dining room a winding staircase takes you down to the lower level and the long hall which spans the whole length of the building. Here you will find the laundry room and the snug, perfect for children, with sofas, a large TV and stairs that bring you back up to the top floor. Off the hall you will find four comfy bedrooms. The master super king size bedroom has a large en suite bathroom with separate shower, bath and WC. There is also a super king size room with an en suite bathroom with separate shower, bath and WC. You will also find two twin bedrooms, each with 3 beds and a shared bathroom with bath, shower and WC. Outside, surrounding the property are terraced patios and lawn areas planted with shrubs and trees. With stunning views of Ullswater and the surrounding mountains, the gardens are the perfect place for adults to sit back and relax and for children to play in. This property does not allow charging of electric vehicles using a regular plug into the property. This is for insurance purposes. The nearest charging facility is approximately 5 miles away.
