From the nearby Irton Road station you can catch the La al Ratty steam train on its way to the coastal village of Ravenglass (6 miles). Remaining in the valley, you can climb Muncaster Fell (3.5 miles), see Stanley Ghyll Waterfall (5 miles), visit Muncaster Castle (6 miles) or head north to Scafell Pike (9.5 miles). Activities include kayaking, climbing, canoeing, paddle boarding and ghyll scrambling. The substantial solid oak doorway features a stained glass panel and leads you into this imaginatively furnished and tastefully decorated home. The main open plan lounge/diner is an airy, fresh and relaxing space with exposed beams, panoramic views from five windows, a delightful dining area and lots of cosy seating. Featuring changeable surround ceiling lights, the kitchen is a pleasure to cook in, complete with an induction hob, built in oven, combination microwave and oven, dishwasher, fridge, boiling water tap, toaster, blender and an array of other features. The kitchen also has a handy breakfast table. The ground floor also features a utility room complete with a WC, washer/dryer and freezer. Heading up the open tread oak and glass staircase, the first floor houses the three main bedrooms, each with glorious views. The Industrial Room offers a double bed, sloping ceiling, a skylight and a variety of features including a light from the Strand Theatre. The Bell Room has a double bed and is situated in what was once the building s original bell tower with working bell still intact. The beautiful Scandinavian Room features a king size bed and views across to Birker Fell. The main bathroom has a bath, walk in shower and WC, as well as a TV which you can enjoy from the comfort of the bath. There s also a shower room complete with chromotherapy shower and WC. The property has an annexe called the Garden Room, a beautiful additional king size bedroom with French doors, views across the valley and an en suite shower and WC. The Garden room also has a Smart TV and WIFI internet connection. Stepping outside, mature gardens surround the property, and there are several delightful spots for you to sit back with a morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening as you admire the views of the fells. A granite escarpment is to the rear of the house, with a decked area with lighting which houses the oval shaped outside bath, which has space for a maximum of two people. Elsewhere, you will find a BBQ and fire pit, ideal for spending a night under the stars. The gravelled parking area has space for two cars. Please note the garden is also home to some slow worms, which look like snakes but are harmless.
