The Yeo Farm estate covers 146 acres and borders over 2 miles along the River Avon. This truly unique family run estate boasts a charming 800 year old farmhouse nestled in 146 acres of unspoilt woodlands in the Avon Valley, it’s the perfect place to escape. With 2 miles of river running through the estate, with perfect spots for swimming in the summer, it also has annual runs of both salmon & sea trout. You are surrounded by nature, including kingfishers & otters, and can meander peacefully through the fields and woodland at your leisure.
With a large firepit cooking area with seating and 12 person hot tub, it’s the ideal outdoor entertaining space. The house boasts a fine collection of antique furniture and family pieces that create a significant environment for entertaining indoors.
With large sofas covered in cosy alpaca throws in the sitting room, the enormous wood burner will keep you warm whilst you enjoy your friends and family. A 3 metre long dining table, with soft, comfortable leather seating is perfect for long dinners whilst the kitchen has cosy bench seating to enjoy breakfast en famille. The utility space is ideally set up for walkers with enough space to dry both wellies and dogs.
Downstairs you have a small double which is ideal for guests who struggle with stairs or teenagers. Upstairs you have the generous Master “Butterfly” bedroom, with beautiful super king sleigh bed, impressive antique wardrobe and large ensuite bathroom. Along the landing there is the stunning “Bird” Bedroom with antique four poster bed and comfortable chairs and window seating. The open fireplace, stunning large hand painted bird pictures and antique furniture make this a superior space in which to stay.
The family room enjoys an antique cast iron double bed & small single bed, perfect for parents with a young child to stay. Further down the landing is the “Dartmouth” bedroom, with unusual metal bed and generous clothes storage. Lastly the “Boat” twin bedroom is a warm space for couples or children to sleep. There is a shower room and 2 generous bathrooms on the landing that will easily serve all these rooms & their guests.
Located in Kingsbridge, this farm stay is in a rural area and on a river. Bigbury Golf Club and Sharpham Wine & Cheese are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those looking for area attractions can visit Woodlands Family Theme Park and Slapton Ley Field Centre.
