Ideal for families and couples of all ages, they can sleep up to 23 guests in total.
Martleaves House (UKC2670) is a very warm and welcoming family home and a worthy winner of the TV programme Four in a Bed in 2015. The welcoming and friendly owners live in an apartment at the top of the farmhouse, with a separate entrance, and care for the animals in the grounds and run the camp site next door. Jurassic Apartments Holiday Home (UKC2671) is a lovely cottage for up to six guests and enjoys a private garden with a barbecue. Jurassic Apartments Bungalow (UKC2672) enjoys distant sea views across the camp site. Set all on one level, it offers comfortable accommodation for four guests. Guests in all properties can enjoy personal touches such as toiletries, and shared access of the grounds, which offer a lake with a bridge and duck house, a fountain, a summerhouse and a warm, bubbling hot tub (on a rota system so that each property has allocated times). There are free roaming geese, bantam hens, rare breed chickens, a pheasant and George and Mildred the pigs – all to be discovered meandering in the flower beds and grounds! Guests can purchase freshly laid eggs when available, and there are horses and alpacas in the fields beyond. Stabling is available should guests wish to bring their own horse. The charming village of Wyke Regis has a historic church, supermarket, bakery, village shop/post office, fish and chip shop, pub and take away – all within easy reach.
The site is surrounded by fields and countryside, and boasts private access leading down to the Fleet Lagoon which stretches across to Chesil Beach. Guests can enjoy stunning walks along the South West Coast Path to Portland, and along the old railway, the Rodwell Trail. The dramatic coastline of the Isle of Portland is home to some spectacular and unique flora and fauna, whilst the Georgian seaside resort of Weymouth, 3 miles away, offers a bustling town and harbour. More energetic visitors can walk to Weymouth and Portland in less than an hour, which are not only at the heart of the World Heritage Coast, but were also the venues for the sailing events of the 2012 Olympics. It attracts walkers, cyclists and kite-surfers, and is popular for climbing and sailing. Whether you are looking for a stroll on the promenade, long rustic beaches, a historic harbour side, some top attractions or panoramic seascapes and landscapes, this is the area to visit.
