Located in a rural position on the fringes of Wareham Forest, this spacious property is ideally situated for touring. The historic walled town of Wareham is close at hand, where you can hire boats, kayaks and paddle boards for a leisurely trip up the river, before sampling some local cuisine in the choice of pubs and cafes. The cottage also offers easy access to the Jurassic Coast, ensuring there is never a shortage of things to do. For those wishing to get active there are many walking and cycling routes leading from the property that wind through this striking landscape. All ages will enjoy exploring the Tank Museum, Monkey World and the picture post card village of Corfe Castle. Built in the late 1800 s and originally part of the Trigon Estate, the property is accessed via an unmade track and a gravel driveway. A step then leads you to the main entrance into this detached former farm workers cottage, which has been carefully extended. Once inside, there s plenty of space to leave muddy boots in the reception hall, which has a utility room complete with shower and WC just off to one side. This useful space has a washing machine, as well as plenty of space to hang up your coats and outside clothing. The hall then leads through to a spacious lounge which stretches from the front to the back of the building and features a welcoming wood burner. This is a comfortable and characterful room where you can sit back and relax after a long walk or cycle ride through the surrounding forest. Enjoy snuggling up in front of your favourite shows on the TV/DVD or open the French doors and look out over the garden. Linking the lounge to the kitchen/diner is a cosy snug, with further space to unwind or perhaps for the children to play whilst you prepare meals. The open plan kitchen/diner is just next door and is well equipped with all the conveniences needed for modern living, including a range style cooker with gas hob and electric ovens, American style fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave. Opposite is a dining table, perfectly positioned for enjoying leisurely meals together. Heading back into the hallway you will find a staircase rising to the first floor. Here there are three inviting bedrooms, including a king size, a double with feature fireplace and finally a twin bedroom, which also has a full size cot. All of the bedrooms have been decorated with care to ensure a great night s sleep. Completing the first floor is a stylish bathroom with bath, generous separate shower and WC. Heading outside to the rear of the property you will find a wonderful south facing garden, complete with large lawn ideal for challenging the family to a ball game before lighting the BBQ and sitting down to enjoy your meal at the outdoor table. Set within a plot of just over half an acre and looking out over the forest, the cottage offers a welcome sense of seclusion, with your only visitors likely to be the local wildlife, including deer, foxes and badgers. In keeping with its location some areas of the garden remain wild, which means you might encounter some stinging nettles away from the main lawn and patio space. It is not possible to fully enclose the garden so care is to be taken with children and dogs. To the front of the cottage is a gravel parking area suitable for four cars.
