Red kites are a common sight, and you may be lucky enough to see the ospreys or even golden eagles that are part of a reintroduction project in the region. The beautiful Crofthead Burn runs through the adjacent woodland, tumbling down a series of cascades and mini waterfalls to reach the Moffat Water.
