With stunning views across the Usk Valley, and nestling by the Black Mountains, this beautiful cottage opens directly onto the Beacons Way which leads through the magnificent Brecon Beacons. The property lies on the outskirts of the pretty hamlet of Cwmdu where you will find a charming pub, tearooms, art gallery and the AstroCamp, ideal for budding stargazers. Other local attractions include Tretower Court and Castle (2 miles), Llangorse Lake (8 miles) and Talgarth Mill (7 miles). The Black Mountains are to the north and east, or you could head south to the thriving town of Crickhowell (5 miles) where you will find a variety of independent shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants as well as the ruins of Crickhowell Castle. A garden path leads from the lane up to the cottage. Steps lead to a charming stable style door which opens into the porch and kitchen. The delightful kitchen is a pleasure to cook in and is equipped with a double oven with a ceramic hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge and freezer. With oak beams crossing the ceiling, the inviting dining room features a long dining table and makes a wonderful space for enjoying a family meal. Exploring the cottage further, you will discover the pretty lounge. With a SkyTV, a wood burner set in a large inglenook fireplace, exposed oak ceiling beams and plenty of comfortable seating, the friendly and beautifully furnished lounge is ideal for relaxing in at the end of a great day out. The ground floor also has a bathroom with a shower and WC. Wooden stairs lead up to the first floor where you will find two gorgeous bedrooms. The master bedroom is decorated in light, soothing tones and features a cosy king size bed and with a luxurious roll top bath for late night soaks. The twin bedroom has oak beams and exposed stonework. Please note: both bedrooms have quite low sloping ceilings, timber flooring and traditional ledge and brace doors, emphasising the traditional feel of the cottage. The property lies behind a tall beech hedge and features a charming cottage garden, extensive lawn and stone terrace with plenty of garden furniture, making this a great space to enjoy a glass of wine, BBQ or al fresco meal. Parking is available on the lane below the house.
