Just a short stroll from the cottage will take you to some of Hay on Wye s most popular attractions including Warren Beach on the River Wye where you can enjoy a picnic, or go fishing, canoeing or swimming. The town is famous for its numerous second hand book and antique shops, and there s also plenty of pubs and restaurants to sample. Beyond the town, there are numerous walks and cycle trails to follow, including Offa s Dyke Path, with destinations including Hay Bluff (5 miles), Golden Valley and Llanthony Valley (both 12 miles). Other attractions include the Small Breeds Farm Park and Owl Centre (12.5 miles), Tretower Castle (20 miles) and Llangorse Lake (13 miles). Brecon is also nearby (16 miles). Although built as recently as the 1980s this delightful cottage is created from the old stone and timbers which characterise the older cottages in the town, giving this property a quaint and appealing appearance. The light and welcoming lounge is an ideal space to relax in, with a Smart TV, DVD and plenty of seating to enjoy a movie or a good book at the end of the day. The bright and stylishly designed kitchen is equipped with a range of useful appliances including a double oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and dining table. There s also a ground floor WC and a utility room with a fridge and freezer. Heading upstairs you will find two cosy and attractively decorated double bedrooms and a family bathroom complete with a bath, shower and WC. The final flight of stairs leads you up to a large twin bedroom with sloping ceilings and a separate WC. Stepping outside, the private and enclosed garden provides a lovely spot to sit in the sunshine and enjoy a BBQ, with enough space for children to play. Storage is available for mountain bikes or canoes, and there s parking for one car outside the cottage.
