This unique Grade 2 listed historic tower is the perfect retreat for a couple looking for a romantic break and to explore this beautiful, historic town and the wider Northumberland area. Walk from the tower to the market square and encounter cobbled streets, independent shops friendly pubs and good restaurants. Spend a day at the amazing Alnwick Gardens, with lunch in the treehouse restaurant, followed by a play at the Theatre. A day out at Alnwick Castle is a must and you can venture across the causeway to visit Holy Island. Meanwhile, the breath taking coastline, fishing villages and ancient castles beckon with Alnmouth, Warkworth, Embleton and Bamburgh to name a few. Take a picnic and settle into a sand dune for a relaxing afternoon. You enter the tower and head up the very narrow, spiral stone staircase to begin your adventure. The first floor comprises the open plan contemporary kitchen/diner with huge, arched windows flooding light into the room. The kitchen is well equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with an ice compartment, dishwasher and a Tassimo coffee machine. You can sit at the separate island for a quick breakfast and drink or enjoy a leisurely meal together by candlelight at the dining table. Stairs at one side of the kitchen lead up to a mezzanine with views on all four sides and a cushioned window seat and bookcase. Sit here with your morning coffee and drink in those amazing views over the historic market town, Alnwick Castle and the countryside beyond. Read a book or plan your days out and about using the guidebooks to help you and, after a day out exploring, come back up here at dusk to watch the sunset and admire the Castle views all over again, now beautifully illuminated at night. You can stargaze and drift away. From the kitchen, take the narrow, winding stone stairs up to the second floor where you will find the lounge. There is a large, comfortable sofa to sink into and Smart TV for your entertainment. The Gothic stone carved east window offers magnificent views of the castle, particularly at dawn. Located off the lounge are the light and airy bathroom with a shower and WC. For bedtime, head upstairs to the spacious second mezzanine which wraps around two sides of the tower and overlooks the lounge. Enjoy the comfort of the super king zip and link bed (which can be made up as twins on request). Regrettably no dogs, children or babies are permitted to stay at the property.
