Lower Stanton St. Quintin and its sister village Stanton St. Quintin have had human settlement since the Neolithic period and Bronze Age, and you can look at some mediaeval earthworks that survive in the parish. It is listed in the Domesday Book of 1086. Glebe Farm, next door to the property, is the oldest house in the area, built in 1582.
