Kingfisher Cottage is a characterful grade-2 listed historic cottage perfectly located on the picturesque river front at Bewdley.
Originally built circa 1790, the cottage has recently been completely refurbished to a high standard with all modern conveniences whilst maintaining the period features.
It is perfect for families, couples and groups of friends looking for a great holiday getaway.
The cottage is arranged over three floors.
The ground floor consists of a cosy open plan lounge and upper breakfast bar area, fully equipped modern kitchen and downstairs toilet. The open plan lounge has a sofa, an armchair and a foldout chair-bed. There is also a small outdoor private space at the rear with a table and a couple of chairs suitable for having a quiet coffee and evening drink. Alternatively, it can also be used for securely storing cycles.
The first floor has a double bedroom at the front with a dressing table, built in wardrobe, antique fireplace and sash window with beautiful views over the River Severn and Bewdley Bridge. There is a modern bathroom at the rear with toilet, bath and shower.
The upper floor loft bedroom has two single beds on either side of the staircase. One of the single beds has another single bed underneath which can be pulled out and placed alongside if required.
There is central heating and wifi throughout with two Smart TV’s on retractable arms in the lounge and double bedroom.
A foldable metal table and chairs are available to take outside to sit in the sun by the riverside and watch the swans, ducks, rowers and people walking by.
The cottage has private fishing rights outside of its river frontage quayside.
Due to the riverside location of the cottage it does not have parking outside the cottage, however, it is possible to briefly stop outside the cottage to load & unload your car and the Dog Lane long stay public car park is a 1-minute walk away along the river front.
If you provide your car registration number, we have a permit for this car park which we can temporarily transfer to your car registration for the duration of your stay. If you have more cars, you can pay for their parking charges through the JustPark app.
Within 50 metres along the river front on either side of the cottage are two great historic pubs serving food (“The Mughouse” and “The Cock and Magpie”), an excellent café for breakfast and lunch (“The Riverside Café) and an award-winning fish and chip shop.
A minute walk away in the centre of beautiful Bewdley are two metro supermarkets (Tesco and Coop), a newsagent with post office, many small independent shops, a museum, art shops, cycle hire, restaurants and many more pubs.
The Bewdley Railway Station for the historic Severn Valley Steam Railway is a 5-minute walk away over the river.
The West Midland Safari Park loved by families and children is a 5-minute drive away towards Kidderminster.
The ancient Wyre Forest National Nature Reserve is a 5-minute drive away with walking and cycling trails and a tree top “Go Ape” zip wire course.
Located in Bewdley, this vacation home is on a river. Bewdley Pines Golf Club and Kidderminster Golf Club are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore West Midland Safari Park and Kingsford Country Park.
