Public car park, free of charge, 25 yards away. No smoking. . Welcome to Skylarks, a wonderful retreat quietly tucked away within the Atlantic Bays Holiday Park, on Cornwall’s majestic North Coast. A perfect location for exploring the bustling fishing port of Padstow, with its superb restaurants, galleries, and shops, or for watching the small fishing fleet come and go along with boats of all shapes and colours.
Once inside, you are greeted by a warming space, with fabulous yellow and blue décor, giving a country cottage feel and style. The kitchen has a superb array of goods plus thoughtful extras such as a coffee machine, slow cooker, and ceiling fan. The dining table seats up to six people comfortably, whilst an inviting sofa and twin blue chairs promote relaxation and offer an ideal spot in which to unwind. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed with soft linens, the second with a bunk boasting double on the bottom and a single above. The family bathroom has an excellent electric shower set within a cubicle. The décor is uplifting, bright and stylish throughout. Outside, the private decking area is flanked by a beautiful hydrangea and makes a great place to enjoy a sundowner after a busy day of adventures; parking is also just 25 yards away from the property.
The award-winning beaches, bays and coves are plentiful hereabouts, with the blue and turquoise waters of the vast Atlantic Ocean boasting stupendous vistas from cliff tops and rugged rock formations. Port Isaac, of ‘Doc Martin’ fame, is beautifully scenic whilst Tintagel, mystical and the home of King Arthur’s legend, is a must-visit! So, too, is picture-postcard pretty Boscastle. Water sports are very popular here, with strong swells from the ocean making for excellent surfing conditions, whilst the huge, golden swathes of sand and sea are a family favourite, where paddling, swimming or rock pooling provide hours of fun.
Located in Wadebridge, this cottage is in a rural area and by the sea. South West Coast Path Section 15 Trailhead and South West Coast Path Section 16 Trailhead are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those looking for area attractions can visit Padstow Maize Maze and Camel Creek Adventure Park. Japanese Garden and Bonsai Nursery and National Lobster Hatchery are also worth visiting.
