To many who know the Lake District well, the Duddon Valley is the most beautiful and authentic area of the national park, where you could easily believe that time has simply stood still. Leave your car at the cottage and walk or cycle the numerous paths and tracks directly from the farm. Alternatively, travel over the stunning Wrynose Pass and through to the Langdale Valley or north over the challenging Hardknott Pass (11.1 miles), the steepest road in England, pausing at Hardknott Roman Fort (12.8 miles) before descending to Eskdale (8.7 miles) and Scafell Pike (17.6 miles), England's highest mountain. Head further to Wasdale (16.6 miles) and the majestic Wastwater (20.3 miles), England's deepest lake. Inside, the cosy lounge area with sofas and armchairs set around the coffee table and Smart TV and wood burner. The contemporary kitchen complements this room with a large dining table and is an ideal spot to enjoy a Lakeland breakfast or a beautiful home cooked family dinner, which is down a few steps from the kitchen. Heading to the first floor, there are two beautifully presented bedrooms. A super king size zip and link (which can be made into a twin on request) with breath taking views across the.
