Set within the heart of a popular and beautiful village in the Bride Valley yet only a few miles from the world heritage Jurassic coast and Chesil beach, the house benefits from a wonderful peaceful location and stunning surrounding countryside whilst being only a 10 minute drive to the amenities of Dorchester and Bridport with a wealth of charming individual and larger shops, cinemas and restaurants.
The house has recently been lovingly restored by the present owners exposing a wealth of charm and character whilst retaining all the comfort required for a modern home, including inglenook fireplaces with two log burners and beautifully proportioned rooms.
The area also benefits from culinary delights with lovely local restaurants and beautiful
pubs specialising in locally caught fish and local farm produce as well as farm shops and delicatessens, coffee venues, pizzarias and ice cream parlours plus locally brewed beer and cider. The village even boasts its own vineyard selling wonderful English sparkling wine from a very well respected maker.
Bridport also hosts a well stocked and popular market every week selling food produce and collectibles.
Within 4 miles of the sea and nearby Hive beach and the Jurassic coastline, the cottage is close enough to enjoy both the seaside and the countryside.
The house is accessed from the village lane via the side drive; a five bar gate leads to a good sized, south facing terrace steps lead down to a lawn with shrub borders and a semi-walled garden. Parking for 2 cars.

The little used front door, bordered by pretty stone flower-beds, leads to large double-aspect Sitting Room with open fire Log burner; Dining Room with ancient fireplace and door to stairs; Kitchen with dishwasher and microwave + full oven and all amenities; rear Lobby with washing machine with WC/Shower and door to terrace. Wifi broadband provided throughout the stay.
Upstairs: 4 very comfortable Bedrooms: master bedroom with King size bed, a further double room with SuperKing bed (which can split to 3ft twin beds), a further twin bedroom and a single bedroom. The house sleeps 7 and does have an additional travel cot if required.
A Bathroom with bath and over bath shower with old stone and beam features. Further shower room downstairs.
Efficient and recently replaced eco Electric panel heaters plus two log burners.
The present owners have made the cottage into a modern and comfortable home whilst retaining all the charm of the cottage. All bedding and sheets are of a very high standard and good size. The cottage is serviced and cleaned before the stay to meet all standards required by Visit Britain.
The property is managed by a local housekeeper who is on hand to look after you throughout your stay should you need. The housekeeper will not visit during your stay unless required however the gardener may come to carry out garden maintenance. Prior to your arrival the cottage will have been be cleaned and all beds made up with clean sheets for the number of guests on the booking.
It is required that the house is left clean and tidy prior to departure.
Instructions and house rules are provided. There is a small welcome pack provided at the beginning of your stay.

Mangerton Mill and Maiden Castle are local landmarks, and some of the area's attractions include Abbotsbury Children's Farm and Abbotsbury Swannery. Traveling with kids? Scuba diving and water skiing offer great chances to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with cycling and ecotours nearby.
