South Winds has classic, refined interiors and is in a tranquil location just moments from the heart of one of the Cotswolds' favourite villages, Bourton-on-the-Water. It is the perfect choice for those in search of a quiet country escape with amenities on the doorstep. Close to the centre of Bourton-on-the-Water, romantically known as the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds' thanks to the River Windrush which flows directly through it, this country hideaway is perfect for guests in search of some peace and quiet.
Boasting bright, spacious interiors, with a wonderful large garden and secluded terrace at its disposal, guests have more than enough room within which to unwind, plus essential off-street parking for four cars on a handy private driveway. Hard to come by in a village as popular as Bourton.
Four bedrooms offer a cosy rest-stop for up to seven guests, with a well-equipped kitchen diner and spacious living room offering more than enough space for entertaining friends and family. With plenty of walks from the door, this is a fantastic base for lovers of the great outdoors looking to explore the Cotswolds. Equally, those who don't want to move a muscle are well-catered for, thanks to South Winds' amenities such as TVs, garden and board games, and Bourton-on-the-Water's host of cafés, restaurants, boutiques and grocery stores, all within a few minutes walk of the cottage.
On entering the house, you will be drawn to the light-flooded, open-plan kitchen which leads into the large suntrap garden. You will be hard pushed not to immediately want to fling open the double French doors and collapse onto the luxury Rattan furniture (maybe making a G&T on the way!). The hub of the home is the south-facing downstairs living space, consisting of a spacious living room, cosy snug, open-plan kitchen and dining room. This light-filled area, mainly due to the notable roof lantern, makes it the perfect space to spend time with family or to entertain guests. The natural solid oak dining table and scroll back chairs seat up to ten people, perfect for generations of families or friends to get together.
Two sets of French doors encourage you outside to the flower-bordered, south-facing garden with additional views into the surrounding Cotswold countryside; with a patio, luxury garden furniture and a charcoal American Smoker BBQ. Grab a blanket from the footstool in the living room when the sun goes down and you can continue to enjoy the outdoors for hours feeling snug. There are many games to be enjoyed inside and out, including poker, cards and dominoes.
South Winds has four bedrooms and three bathrooms that have been lovingly furnished by the owners, to offer all the conveniences of modern-day living, making you feel at home. Downstairs, there is a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room which is perfect for people with limited mobility. Upstairs, there are two double bedrooms and a single bedroom. The upstairs master double bedroom has an en-suite bath/shower room and the second upstairs double bedroom shares a family shower room with the single bedroom.
