Surrounded by 2 acres of private gardens, Achnaha is a peaceful haven, ideal for families or group of friends. Choice of beautiful beaches, golf, whisky, gin, forest trails, island hopping, castles and abbeys to explore. Local pub and restaurant less than 5 minutes’ drive from the house. Local shop, garden centre, cafe, post office also less than 5 minutes’ drive.
Downstairs the house is heated by underfloor heating and has a lovely wood burning stove. The house is very well-insulated with underfloor heating and hot water provided by Air Source Heat Pump. There is a large lounge and dining area, modern kitchen with breakfast table and French doors overlooking coast with Islay, Jura and Gigha easily in view.
There are 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms with wooden floors throughout. There is a Master bedroom (with king sized bed) and Family Bedroom (with single and bunk beds) on the 1st floor with two doubles on the ground floor (one with en-suite). Each bathroom benefits from half-height heated towel rails.
In the two main living areas there are 2 sets of patio doors for you to enjoy the fabulous views over the Atlantic Ocean and the Sound of Gigha.
Furnished to a luxury standard with all home comforts you would expect with a welcome pack included. Luxurious Egyptian cotton towels and bedding, hypoallergenic duvet and pillows. Hair dryer and hot water bottle all provided.
The kitchen is finished to a high standard. The kitchen has integrated appliances
; gas hob, oven, microwave oven, fridge freezer and dishwasher. Additionally there is a Nescafe coffee machine, electric wok and a George Foreman Grill. A separate utility room also provides a washing machine.
Outside there are extensive gardens with over 2 acres of ground around the house. In the large back garden there are football goals, in the paddock there is a small forest with swings and rope ladder.
Located in Tarbert, this vacation home is in a rural area and on the waterfront. Glenbarr Abbey and Kildonan Dun Ruins are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Glen Scotia Distillery and Springbank Distillery. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.
