This charming stone cottage built in 1841enjoys a peaceful location within the village of Pen y Cae set on the bank of the River Tawe within the Brecon Beacons National Park. Walkers can enjoy access from the cottage onto the Brecon Beacons Way where you can explore the surrounding hills and countryside. Visit the Crai and Usk reservoirs or climb Fan Fawr, enjoying the views across the Beacons before descending to Llyn y Fan Fawr. Other local attractions include The National Showcaves Centre for Wales (1.5 miles) along with the Wales Ape & Monkey Sanctuary (2.5 miles). The Four Water Falls Ystradellte and Forest Fawr Geo Park are both just 12 miles away. Set on a peaceful country lane with parking to the front, you will access the cottage via the front door. This leads into the entrance hall where you will find room for coats and boots. There is also access to a bathroom and a separate WC. From here, you can access the main body of the cottage, the traditional kitchen with a contemporary twist is well equipped, offering all you may need to cater for your stay. For dining, a generously sized table and chairs is set to the side where you can enjoy views across the gardens. Continue into the cosy lounge with its low beamed ceiling and wood burner, where you can relax and enjoy a film on the Smart TV. Upstairs there are two spacious bedrooms: a double room and a twin room, both with garden views. A spacious landing offers a spot where you can relax with a good book. Outside you can enjoy the enclosed gardens, and there is a patio area with a table and chairs perfect for summer dining along with a charcoal BBQ.
