The Olchon Valley is situated on the Herefordshire/Welsh border within the Black Mountains on the eastern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. It s an area of special scientific interest, with a profusion of birds, plants and animals, some rare, along with no light pollution it is a great place for stargazing. Here, you can leave the car behind and head into the Black Mountains, climb onto the Hatterrall Ridge to join the Offa s Dyke Path where you can walk out to the Hay Bluff and Twmpa, or enjoy the ruins of Llanthony Priory. There is also canoeing, pony trekking and climbing available within the park.
