Note: The property has been upgraded with improved facilities for the 2022 season. Llandeilo 3.9 miles. Nestled amidst the beautiful Carmarthenshire countryside with far-reaching views of the valleys to admire, is Barcud Cottage. In a complex of three, with the owners living nearby, this characterful stone-built property offers a rural self-catering experience in a sought after position in Wales. This converted barn has been transformed into exceptional accommodation and with both the coast and countryside awaiting to be explored, you and your loved ones will be delighted to call this home for a while. Enter into the cottage and discover the well-equipped kitchen, hosting a range of quality amenities for cooking up family-favourite dishes, whilst the dining table allows the group to gather to enjoy each other’s company over good food and drinks. The sitting room is elegantly decorated, with a plush seating arrangement and a comforting electric log burner inviting you in to relax in front of the Smart TV and with an enhanced view of the countryside through the new large glass patio door. A perfect way to unwind after a bracing walk on the Welsh hills. Concluding the ground floor is the master bedroom, featuring a sumptuous super-king-size bed and its own en-suite shower room, whilst upstairs there are zip'n'link twin beds (or request for a super king size), with its own en-suite shower room. During the summer months, light up the barbecue and enjoy a spot of alfresco dining on the private patio or take a seat around the communal fire-pit whilst any younger guests of the group have run of the large lawn area. Alternatively, enjoy a fabulous woodland walk from the front door. Explore your surroundings further by talking a stroll into the nearby village of Golden Grove or find a larger selection of amenities in Llandeilo, which is set in the heart of the Towy Valley and has an interesting selection of individual shops, galleries, pubs, delicatessens and eateries. Carmarthenshire is known as the Garden of Wales and the National Botanic Garden of Wales and Aberglasney, a garden lost in time, are both just moments away and offer superb days out, whilst the town of Carmarthen itself is also well worth a look, too. Outdoor pursuits are in abundance here, with excellent salmon and sewin fishing available on the River Towy, as well as a network of mountain bike trails and for nature lovers, the area abounds in wildlife, with red kites, owls, badgers and deer regularly seen across the area. Further afield is the Gower Peninsula, home to a collection of wonderful beaches with great surfing opportunities, whilst the Black Mountain and the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons National Park) are ideal for the avid ramblers amongst us. Barcud Cottage promises to be a wonderful getaway for the whole family.
